I offer a free, no-strings-attached sample edit (of 250 words) to all of my clients. This allows us to arrive at a mutually agreed-upon manuscript assessment, and it also gives authors the opportunity to see my work before signing a contract. I make sure that we are “on the same page” about the level of editing a manuscript needs. Based on the sample assessment, and with writers’ goals and budgets in mind, I work with them to arrive at a contract that clearly states the work I will do, what it will cost, and when it will be complete.
